January 2008
If you’re in New York Sunday afternoon…
Go to the reading of Josh Malmuth’s new play ‘The Architecture of Fear and Danger‘. It’s being performed as part of Tisch’s annual HotINK International Festival of Play Readings by the Atlantic Theater Company. Laura Savia directs and John Gallagher, Jr. stars. It’s on Sunday 3 February 2008 at 4pm at The Studio on the 3rd floord of the Tisch School of the Arts (721 Broadway), but you should RSVP to 212 998-1860 if you plan on attending.

We’re currently showing five videos Josh had a hand in (!), including two we wrote together. Look out for more from Josh, on the stage and on the screen, in the future…
1928 Recordings
Our old friend Ryan McReynolds has started a record label in Brooklyn. It’s called 1928 Recordings and they’ve got most of the bands we’re friends w/ on it including The Muslims, The Sundelles, and The Browns. Right now they’ve got a label sampler cassette tape which you can get by contacting them directly.
To celebrate, they’re throwing a party in Manhattan on Tuesday January 29th. It’s at St. Jerome’s (155 Rivington St.) and it starts at 9pm. Go say ‘hi’ to Ryan and watch Russ’s Muslims video projected. Visit 1928Recordings.com or MySpace.com/1928Recordings to stay up-to-date.

Phil Means Love
Our good friend Phil Pinto just put up his personal url PhilMeansLove.com. You can watch the music video he just completed in addition to several other projects from the last few years. We’re currently showing his video, ‘The Last Laugh‘ in our films section and we showed his ‘Chinatown‘ video at our Community Shorts screening last month. Keep an eye on this kid!
Love? episode 3
I thought I lost this video, but then i found her. Here is the conclusion to Love? the series. If you want to see the first two episodes, check out http://www.youtube.com/russfinkelstein
Alternate Alternate Goo Goo Dolls Video
A group of student filmmakers had to shoot a music video, so our friend Ivan from the Dominican Republic chose to make an alternate music video for “Slide,” one of his favorite Goo Goo Dolls Songs. The camera stopped working before the shoot ever began, so I made an alternate alternate music video with behind-the-scenes footage and some impromtu performances from the actors with my digital camera.
Jett Steiger
Our good friend Jett Steiger just updated his website and put the first part of his ‘Yarn’ series online (which we screened at our thing last month). To top it off, he’s headed to Sundance next week w/ a short he produced called ‘The Execution of Solomon Harris‘ (TDB Link).
Waverly Flams Double Dip
Did you know that Waverly Films posts a new video every week? They’re called ‘Clips of the Week’ and if you’re not familiar, you should spend a couple of hours in their back catalog. This week’s installment:
Check their site or their YouTube page for more. Also, they’ve got a few new commercials and music videos up.

On an unrelated topic
I like to steer away from unrelated topics, but today I just can’t resist.
Some of us dudes over here at Milkfat are completely addicted to a show from the UK called Never Mind the Buzzcocks on BBC2. Check out the latest episode here. Also, if you’re up for it, see the episode with Amy Winehouse as guest. Its worth it, trust us.
New Rafaël
Had the pleasure of spending yesterday afternoon w/ Rafaël Rozendaal. I’ve been a big fan of his work for a long time and I was happy to find out that the guy’s as cool and clever as his work. The Tagbanger posts are always good as well. He told me that he once made a music video:
